What do you think you are achieving by attempting to rewrite the dictionary, and more to the point why? People are not that stupid. Everyone knows that a whip is a whip, and always will be.

So it's come to commentators being frightened to use the word even though they are at pains to tell everyone there is nothing wrong with hitting horses with it. It's just a nonsense.
