The in running markets can be very strange at weekends when I imagine there are plenty of inexperienced watchers trying their luck. Front runners can shorten far too soon in many cases if still on the bridle and conversely if a green novice is in front and the jockey shakes the reins at it, a big over reaction drift takes place as many assume it is about to weaken. Some young horses need encouragement but still have a ton in hand as in that case.
