The price was a bonus even though I didn't beat it, backed it on Tuesday at 18/1 thinking it would shorten up dramatically given all the things in its favour, not least the fact that the best jockey in the world today was on it and still claims three, and backing 18/1 chances that win at 7/1 is nice but creates its own problems as we all know account-wise.

I only bet Flat Turf FOTA. These days, on extreme extremes of ground, you have to make hay.

I couldn’t fault you for favouring flat turf….

I'd rarely have a bet over more than a mile either, except in the odd Pattern race.

and if he had won £400k despite having a gambling problem , wouldnt hear a dickie bird from him. We all have a gambling problem  when we are losing.
