The racing community was left in grief and shock again on Wednesday after a man died in a riding accident at Robert Cowell's Newmarket stable.
The devastating news, which was confirmed by police on Wednesday afternoon, comes a day after a female staff member died at Michael Owen's Manor House Stables in Cheshire on Tuesday morning.
The man was named by the Cowell stable as Mazar Allauddin, who was aged 40.
Cowell said: "We are all devastated here at the yard as you can imagine. Although Mazar was only here for two to three weeks he was a very smiley, cheerful person, an accomplished horseman and quickly became a valued member of our small team. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time."
Cowell, a four-time Group 1-winner known for his success with sprinters, has a team of around 50 horses based at Bottisham Heath Stud in Six Mile Bottom, where the facilities include a private gallop.
In a statement, Cambridgeshire Police said: "We were called at about 8.50am today with reports a person had fallen from a horse on London Road, Newmarket. Emergency services attended but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The investigation is being treated as an industrial accident and has been handed over to the Health and Safety Executive."
Bottisham Heath Stud is set within 180 acres of private paddocks situated five miles outside Newmarket.
On Tuesday, Cheshire Police confirmed that a 25-year-old woman had collapsed at Manor House on Old Coach Road, Malpas and died at the scene, adding the death is not being treated as suspicious.

I’m pretty sure people have always ‘just died’, sudden death syndrome is real and didn’t start with these new injections.
I’m not sure if there’s a correlation between people dying and mRNA vaccines but they certainly had complications.
If you look at the disclaimers on the leaflets that come with any perceptions drugs they go to ever greater length to include side effects that became apparent only after the wider public started taking them, and the leaflets get updated. It’s common to learn on the job.
I suffered from Ocular Migraines as a child that were horrendous, but I grew out of them (as did my father), but nobody anywhere said the mRNA jabs could increase the likelihood of them reoccurring…but they did, I would have one every few days scatter gun after the jabs and went on for months, then belatedly they came out and said there could be a connection between the vaccines and migraines in certain people.
Given the circumstances the vaccines were required and even if unexplained deaths are attributable to them they still would have been worth it based on the numbers.
The technology has a future without question, but they might look back in the future and come to the conclusion they weren’t as ‘safe’ as they would otherwise have hoped but implemented out of necessity.

What is a fact is that a very large percentage of the people that died were old/ill and/or obese. How many fit people such as jockeys/footballers died from covid or were seriously ill ? And many of them were not jabbed.

I can't pretend I've seen a lot of his stuff George, but early on he was getting a few people from Israel on, and seemed a follower of the science. He now thinks very differently and is allowed to say so in the main.
