Adam Caffrey 7lb claimer. stewarts rise stewarts rise 28 Oct 22 16:30 Joined: 22 Apr 04 | Topic/replies: 27,685 | Blogger: stewarts rise's blog He is my latest jockey to follow in Ireland, this young lad looks so calm and cool in a race, take a look at his winning ride on Saltonstall last weekend, how confident a ride did he give that, last to 1st in the straight, yes the horse itself was in form and a very good miler but to have the audacity to ride it like that as a 7lb claimer was quite amazing to me at least, had a few rides last year but this is his 1st full season riding. He's riding at 10% sr, but with another 30 horses placed in 1st 4, thats 43/127 horses in 1st 4, better than 1 in every 3. All his winners so far have been on older horses 4+ but i'm sure that will change as they put him on younger horses in future.
He's a cracking rider Kenbo, so unlucky on Saltonstall, picked his way through from the rear as he headed for the far side rail, looked to have judged it perfectly but the winner nutted him on the line, a real sickener as backed at 42 and 55. Won from the front on his winner, i had wondered why Mcguinness hadn't given him many rides on AW recently was saving his 7lb claim for the turf and Lincoln in particular.

Lost his 7lb claim but still rode the other jockeys to sleep on his first ride claiming 5lbs. Has ridden a few 3 yos to victory now and Meade and Byrnes are now putting him up.
