That those nice folk at 32Red and Unibet have been up to no good.
You have to feel sorry for good people like Nicky Henderson and Keith Lemon for all the reputational damage that they will suffer.

How many times are the Kindred group going to get fined before this rancid group has its licences revoked? £7.1 million fine, barely a dent compared with their massive profits and clearly not enough to effect change...

it is a pretty good racket though. Firms break the rules and make 100s of millions, Gambling commish gets a few million in fines, win win - rinse and repeat.

In all fairness to 32Red, I don't think they even bother with the pretence that they are a "bookmaker" and Keith Lemon does seem like a very sincere kind of guy.

While the review has been delayed, the Commission has fined - or agreed settlements instead of fines for - almost all of the top listed gambling companies in the UK.
Ladbrokes owner Entain paid £17 million to the watchdog last year, the largest ever payment. Sky Bet’s parent company was fined £1.2 million for sending free slot spins to customers who had asked to be blocked from its marketing messaging. 888 paid a fine last year after the Commission said the threshold at which it would perform checks on customers was too high. William Hill revealed last year that it was under investigation, and could face a record-breaking fine, if not the suspension of its licence. The expected punishment is so large that it caused 888 to slash the price it paid to acquire the bookmaker by £250 million. |

£7.1m is a drop in the ocean in comparison to their turnover and profit. I firmly believe a minimum of 10% to gross profit ought to be the starting fine for any infringement. Otherwise a repetition will ensure regularly.
