Truly disgraceful overrounds on every race. I weep for the novice punters betting to small stakes. But hah if lucky they would have been introduced to the casino sections through free spins. Life changing and not in a good way

The big handicaps especially so with the 140+OR.

1/5 odds a place.

The only place to be is on here. That said most on here understand odds and value, it is the other 95% getting shafted.

Coral in the know programs tell you all you need to know. And if you take up their festival offers but dont go to their casino site you end up being gubbed

Bookmakers today are just casino theives with horse racing as a loss leader

in fairness playing 8 places, 7 places, was 5 in gold cup.

The extra places saved my bacon a few times, especially yesterday.

In 1993 there was no market for The County Hurdle until the evening before the race. Then in the evening you could only get on with a credit account on the phone.
There was no BOG or enhanced places.  ALL each way bets were at standard terms.

Saxon. The parasite bookies have only followed the exchanges and realised extra places free bet if second etc may entice novices

I bet all of them lay bets off immediately at bigger prices to the exchanges as do on course bookies

There is no need for them now. Just educate punters and have exchanges only.

In which market does an identical product have two different prices?

I am not an idiot and have been both bookie and punter for 45 years.
There are far more opportunities now than in 1978.
It is up to the punter to grasp the elementary arithmetic of betting.

I know you didn’t Celtic warrior, and I apologise for my utterance.
I have little sympathy for bookmakers, nevertheless the bookie must always have an edge, otherwise the game would be dead.
I wish you a happy weekend!

I just want bookies who take bets. Anything else is a bonus and probably a non-necessity. I also think there must be a distinction between sports bookies eg horseracing/football/tennis and gaming bookies eg roulette/slots/virtual. Also, there are too many of them online and surplus to requirement.
