...not been a train to Cheltenham since noon. All cancelled until at least 5.30pm. Great start to the week. Lucky if I get there at this rate

Sorry to hear that Donegal the railways are totally incompetent I went to Cardiff for the rugby two carriages only there must have been around 300 stood up,return journey just as bad.

Hopefully you will get moving soon but of course you would have been hoping for an early afternoon train not a rush hour train

fortunately I haven't left yet Jimnast. I am booked on the 1930 but even that looks very dicey. I am seeing who I know is driving tomorrow morning! Saxon, thank you for that but I think the Bristol trains are all knackered as well so getting to Reading does not, at present, solve the problem. But thank anyway

I think most of the issues with the Railways can probably be attributed to Gary Lineker Shocked

damage to the overhead electric wires between London Paddington and Slough means some lines are currently closed. As a result, trains to and from London Paddington may be cancelled or delayed by up to 120 minutes.

Disruption is expected until 17:00.

if all else fails I have a lift from Rickmansworth at 7.30am Jimnast so at least I will get there. But it makes it a very long day tomorrow with a 5.15am alarm.  I have 5/4 on Constitution so I would like to get there!! Practically every festival is plagued with strikes and delays these days. Takes the fun out of it tbh.

The whole experience has become hassle Donegal, two years running the hotels I booked were taken over by migrants.

I drove from Stockport to Norwich this morning with no issues, the tarmac on Constitution Hill(near Middleton) was firm.

all worked out in the end DBTB. Just parked myself at Paddington from about 6pm onwards and, fortunately, the 2nd train they got running was direct to Cheltenham. Got there an hour late but hey ho. Came  back with Covid mind! Having never had it in 3 years. So the usual post-Festival gloom is a little worse at the moment.
