By answering on this thread westberks is admitting that by seeding the markets the tote is a bookie and not a true tote.

Some staff would not give you a smile never mind a coffee, some staff say please and thank you some don't even look up at you, it depends how you were brought up. I'm Glad to say i was brought up to be both polite and courteous. At 60 odd years old i still stand up if someone older than me gets on a bus. |

May I ask how much you've lost with this bookie so far ? I’m actually ahead with this one. I think this offer is open to all their clients. |

I got a cashier moved to another shop when he wouldn't say please or thank you to the customers. Phoned my area manager and told him I'll give him a further week - On the odd occasion I visit a branch I generally can't wait to get out of there. |

can't believe you don't get the horse form on the wall anymore

This time next year no corals shop will have papers. Hope you are well Ronnie. |

Went into Corals this afternoon about 3pm 4 race meetings on and it was
deserted not one other person in. What makes it more depressing is that there is a working mens club 30yds away where people are always popping over to have a bet then pop back to the club, its either the shop or most likley horse racing is losing its popularity. |

Still some good shops about the problem in a nutshell no good race to race punters about. hope you are well Ronnie. |

Must be totally soul destroying working in a bookies these days. hours and hours each day watching people doing their nuts on the FOBTs when they must know they cant afford it. yes it takes a very special kind of person to stomach that as a long-term career.

area manager finds out you've just been watching and not encouraging you're toast. |

When I was managing shops, albeit well over 20 years ago it was gross misconduct if caught playing the machines. A gut working in one not far from me was sacked after getting caught clocking up credits or summat similar. I got out of the game when they moved the machines in. All the decent punters left when the crazies moved into to play the crack machines.
