Bridget gave the horse a very good ride, only one horse could get to her.

Agreed. They gave it a couple of runs over fences but this is his job. The day he was "only" third to Aucunrisque (getting 5lb) does not look so shabby now. Not a bad novice handicap at Wincanton.

Cobden has balls of steel again! At Sandown if you have some petrol left, wait as long as possible. It is amazing how much ground you can make up against tired horses.

He's riding very well at the moment.

He is riding well, but hardly balls of steel there! hard at it all the way up the straight and the horse responded.

He got lower in the saddle for the last 10 strides. On Iceo, he seemed to have accepted a place until going to the last and then got down and pushed at just the right time. I remember Jim Old once at Sandown telling Carl Llewellyn on a horse called Lord Jim that if he jumped the last in front he would get the sack. It was light hearted but so true. He jumped it third and got up to win comfortably.

Even Quel Destin ran well. He is my least favourite in the yard but they are mostly running at their peak form with Cheltenham 3 days away. Tahmuras to kick things off in the Supreme.
