Aren;t they all "great masters" when they get one home and boost the bank balance. Is he a master when he rides losers too or does he switch it on and off to suite the occasion. As AP says - "I rode 4,000 winners but I rode 10,000 losers as well"!
Well done on the winning bet by the way.?

Backed both of the Balding winners but not in a double. Teumessious Fox was very impressive. Of course Probert gets it wrong as do all jockeys but what I love about him and Buick (they were contemporaries at the Balding yard as apprentices) is the ability to judge how much green maidens and novices have in hand and bring them along to win in the last 10 yards without having a hard race. I'm sure it comes from the trainers. Maclean House had to be delivered twice as Giant responded when he came past the first time but David still got another bit of acceleration from the winner without being hard on the horse. Compare SDS who was imposed on Balding by the owners. He won a lot of races but in my opinion he was one of the hardest riders we have seen in years and the horses went backwards after he had ridden them a few times.
