A winner and an unlucky one yesterday, a big-priced second there, all three off a break.

Just saying like.

Interesting, George.

Just noticed James Horton got a winner today and has one entry at the moment...in the Lincoln on 1st April.
Rated 94, Encourageable would have got in last year and shows at 50/1 with Betfair 5 places at the moment.

On penultimate win (3 Sep at Thirsk) I thought this analysis remark was, erm...encouraging :

ENCOURAGEABLE brought a progressive profile into the race and won convincingly. Pleasingly, this soft-ground win also demonstrates that he's versatile in terms of underfoot conditions - an AW novice winner, and also effective on good to firm - which will serve him well as he tackles stronger opposition.

Tattcorner, I was impressed enough to put him in the notebook after that win, particularly as the win coincided with a first encounter with soft ground.

He didn't back it up on g-s three weeks later at Haydock, but could be a lively outsider back from the pause that refreshes.

Incidentally, talking of 50-1 pokes, the horse that was 4th behind him at Thirsk, Vaccine, runs tonight at Newcastle.

A form booster for Encourageable as Vaccine shows no hesitancy with an injection of pace to run on into second place.

Think that was a booster to the form.  Happy

Also just noticed the 2nd (Positive Impact) won his next race by 4 lengths in a Class 2 at Kempton.

Just found a short clip where James Horton mentions Encourageable at the end...

[ ] This thread is ageing well.

Dunlop 0-20 so far in April and 36 runners since his last winner Blush

He did have one finish second at 100-1 towards the end of last month in a Kempton novice, but otherwise it hasn't been great.

The moral of the story?

Beware small sample sizes!

Ed Dunlop complete non entity to be honest, the apple fell miles away from the tree in that family.
