3-15 Wincanton. Good luck, still not sure whow many places you bet ?? Why go so heavy on one shop ?
Bound to attract unwanted attention with those stakes, I would rather walk about the Town sticking a few £50s on, not that that sort of bet attracts me anyway. ![]() |

They will lay money on their terms. Not the night before, not before 12.00 on the day, I wouldn't have thought on a bad each way race but in my experience you can still get a fair lump on if you aren't already marked up.
I had a guy £20k in front in golf but still got on to his normal bet of 2 to 3 hundred at the price, he was always win only though and probably taking well below exchange prices. A few months ago I had a punter suddenly appear and punted £40K on the betting terminals on tennis and football. All bets accepted. If you don't take the piss, yes I know that shouldn't be the case, try the terminals, all larger bets are immediately passed to a trader, you would be surprised some of the stakes accepted. |

before we pay you out can we just take all your details for the purposes of responsible gambling.
and we can add you to the list of people we never want to take another bet from. |
By:
Tell em where to stick it if asking for ID details, well played with the punt.
By:
nice one skippy
By:
probably say they suspect you couldn't afford the bet and hand you your stake back.
and they suspect you've previously been banned from the shop. |
By:
Rico, the golf guy has been punting in shop for years, stakes always the same, not sure why he has been missed, maybe 4 or 5 bets and punting £500 a week. Had someone similar to those stakes and years in shop who was asked for proof of income,
The £40k man wanted a £6k bet, he had money to collect but they with held his money until he provided ID. He was a really nice guy who was treated like a criminal, they even stopped him coming in the shop. He eventually got sorted but quite rightly took his business elsewhere. The proof of income letters I have gave out were all to losing punters. |
By:
they with held his money until he provided ID
so if someone has £50 on a horse and it loses. can they ask for their stake back on the grounds that if it had won they wouldn't have been able to provide ID anyway ?? |
By:
No hulk,
He wanted a bet on for £6k all companies now gave a procedure that has to be followed before the bet is struck. One of which was providing his ID. the money he was using two winning bets on the ssbts. They couldn't be collected till he fulfilled the requirements |
By:
He did, got paid and has gone elsewhere
By:
if you'd asked for id 'before the bet was struck' you wouldn't be withholding the winnings until he showed you id after it had won.
By:
Rico, I should have added that staff are encouraged to have an interaction with any punter who has a large win, revolving along not increasing stakes etc.
By:
Dealer the game has gone in the shops always loved the game but sad to say counting the weeks down sad to say the shop is only going one way and its not good..hope you are well.
By:
you didn't ask before as there was a chance he'd have told you to fk off and walked out the door with his stake money.
By:
Hulk he normally cashed his bets in on the terminals but because it was for six grand it wouldn't allow him. The cashier behind the counter redeemed his bet and credited the terminal for £6k. This shouldn't have happened, he placed his bets and left. When he came back in he was informed he couldn't collect the winning bets until he provided ID.
