If you set up as a bookie,you’d have rent,rates,electricity,media rights,staff,water,plus numerous other costs. Then you would need footfall,customers,etc

These costs would cripple most shops,hence why a lot have closed.

Betfair allow you to do this for a guaranteed 40%,which is very cheap.

Fair play to them.

They also sell betting data , i,e, the methods employed by the same premium charge customers, for profit, for themselves.
