I'm not a regular Ante Post punter, but Corbetts Cross at 13/2 with BF (nr no bet) for the Albert Bartlett is something to bet on imo. Having won twice over 3 miles on Soft/heavy ground before joining Emmett Mullins, he beat a well regarded novice over 2 miles yesterday in a pretty fast time and looks like a really exciting prospect.

Corbetts Cross halved in price when Ruby put him up on the Road to Cheltenham. Yesterday's race was over two miles, though, and the Albert Bartlett over three. The Racing Post reports that connections are thinking about supplementing him for (presumably) the Ballymore and/or Supreme.
So it might be worth looking at the "any race" markets, or, as you say, NRNB for the potato race. |

If it stays dry he may well miss Cheltenham. I've backed him NRNB anyway

I think he has the ability to win either a Ballymore or an Albert Bartlett. I didn't know you could supplement into the novice races, but at the moment I can't find a price for the Ballymore. I would imagine around 10/1 would be fair enough. He would definitely shake up that market.
The comments of the trainer regarding targets were a nonsense. He shouldn't feel any need to play dumb, he isn't an idiot. At this late stage he will know whether the horse is going to Cheltenham, and for what race. Being so secretive does the sport no favours whatsoever. |

He even mentioned the horse jumping fences. As if he would do that at this stage of the season.

I haven't read anywhere that he might jump a fence this season and as far as Cheltenham is concerned he said he doesn't want to risk the horse on bad ground. I think the 2nd thoughts about the Albert Bartlett are due to the fact that yesterday's win suggests that 3 miles may not be his optimum trip after all. He's not playing dumb, on the contrary he's told us quite clearly that Corbetts Cross is a very good horse and he doesn't want to rush it.

I am quoting from the interview with Gary O'Brien. If you really believe he has got no idea where the horse goes next that's up to you. I don't.
I think many people thought he was a good horse before yesterday. The rest could have worked that out for themselves. He told those people absolutely nothing. |

I backed him at 13/2 after his last win. One of the last good bets I had at Cheltenham was Goshen when the sack of potatos fell off of him, today was deja vu! Gutted!

Tanked through the race, and although Walsh kept switching positions, he could never get him switched off. It looked like he was emptying on the run to the last, but he was only about a length down, and would have had the rail. Not likely, but not completely impossible had he picked up again.

I don't think he was beat. I watched him battle up the hill at Naas last time and I reckon Walsh was waiting for the run in.
