BUT - if the computer is using knowledge of the pool and particularly the combinations already bet, to then determine what combinations to play and to what stakes then that is not "seeding" the pool - it is ripping the other punters off. Then there is the question of timing of the seeding ? - when do they seed ? Can they cancel bets or "realign their seeding" as the time of the off in the first approaches (as the combinations bet into the pool by Joe Public shift) ? In the name of transparency and fairness they should disclose exactly what is going on. |

The mad thing is, the don't even have to do any of this.
If their guarantee just meant that if the pool was less than 100k (or whatever) they dropped cash into the pool (and 'bought' no tickets) the predicted dividends would be massively generous and money would pile in to back them down to something more realistic, allowing the cash top-up to be gradualy withdrawn. |

" Boosting , seeding or Manipulating " . Just pure greed from the Totes shareholders, as if the scandalous 28% rake off is not enough. !!! |

I was explaining the dynamics (well trying to anyway) of the tote placepot to a fellow punter and used that example of actually winning your own house in the raffle after banking the dosh on top. I'm not completely certain he understood though to be honest. |

As i have said before, I spoke to the GC about the "Seeding " of the Totes pools by its own operatives using I assume the latest hi-tec and was told that so long as it was in their terms and conditions it was deemed acceptable, they do mention " seeding " the pools but strangely no mention on where to find by how much and with what results ?

So every punter will pay 28% from the pool all punters pay into.
Then the tote come in and pay zero percentage plus seed the pools, meaning the punter pays near 40% on his winnings, as the tote pay zero in regards the 28% other punters have to pay. Findlay and his pals licking there chops waiting to reap the rewards on a zero percentage take out from there seeded money. |

If you saw Findlays interview with Nick Luck he actually calls the Tote owners " philanthropists"

Same problem here, it seems impossible to get an account with them. They obviously only want certain types of customers getting the rebate accounts. Wouldn’t be that bad if they actually came out and admitted it, though as said on this thread, transparency is very much lacking. You don’t have to work for the tote to get an account there, though it probably helps.
I read that when there was 25 winning scoop tickets that one weekend, only one of them was placed directly with the tote. I think that speaks volumes. Surely if you are shrewd enough to win the scoop6, you are shrewd enough to sign up for an extra 10% on your winnings too? It appears that the Tote is now as much of a tote, as Smarkets is an exchange. Never thought I’d say this, but it was better when Fred had it. |
