Just switched on to Eurosport to see UAE cycling. They were showing camel racing for a few minutes. No whip problem as the "jockeys" are remote controlled robots operated by trainers following in 4 x 4s. They didn't say how long the races are. The track is about 5km. Has anyone on the forum been to a race meeting there ?

actually jokes aside saw some footage on youtube they were also showing ostrich racing dont know if it was a spoof tbh.
I remember seeing a photo of Lester on an ostrich in South Africa.
also saw on some site somewhere when i was bored during lockdown .....horse races through a village /town in one of those 3rd world countrys the jockeys were just villagers completly unregulated and fooking dangerous, horses would take a turning to sharlply and carreer into the crowd watching the spectacle mowing them down , no safety rails ...........the crowd were the safety rails, fooking mayhem !
I think you may have seen a video of Siena's Palio, not 3rd world, but in beautiful Tuscany.
