Reminds me of a punter in Vancouver a long time ago who had the only live ticket going into the last
leg of a scoop 6 that was paying $750,000.00 +. The horse won but after a 10 minute enquiry was Dq'D. The runner's name: 'Tense Moment'! |

There are too many.....a regular occurrence in this game....u just gotta learn to cope with the lows as there will be many and enjoy the highs when they happen

How many times have you backed a horse that went 1.01 in running and lost?

Markets and in running prices are determined by punters so how can you blame the sport? We all follow the same trends which can sometimes be the wrong one. Take a football match where there is only going to be one goal. It could be at any time from the first minute until injury time but the odds on a draw will steadily contract from around 3.4 to 1.02 in that time. Most 1.01 horses are a few lengths ahead and going away but occasionally it will be a horse on the bridle still in second place. If the leader is bone idle, It might well respond to the eventual challenge and hold on to win.

TBF, I should really have noted that 'betting' in general can go through periods of taking the P. Of course, on the bad days you also get the disallowed goal that would have got you back level again...etc etc...
Funny how these things often seem to go together in runs, when it's against you it's against you. pulio - not sure exactly, but been a fair few over the years I suppose - wasn't really meaning that particular one was the worst, just that it came after a run before it, so just venting really. As we all know in this game, it's suck it up...and go again. Unless you just give it up of course! |

ps. one the selection I originally posted about - was amazed to be able to back it around 15.0, given it went down by a nose, and given the horse it was!
