A betting disaster , started off backing fav in first at 1/1 and if I'm honest thought Paul rode a stinker , 3 whacks with his whip in left hand between the last while the horse drifted right , a few of my friends disagreed with me on my observation .  Faulty looked stunning in the paddock and is a winner waiting to happen. No bet in the next fav far to short. Mike in the next after listening to Gordon whisper sweet nothings about him before the race, I am of the opinion he bleeds I could be wrong but i wont be backing him anytime soon . Sweet Will was my getting out of jail card but having looked ready to go and win his race failed to take off at the third last , again my friends said i was wrong and he looked beat , as far as I'm concerned he was coming to win and I'll be giving him another chance...Roll on Clonmel Thursday...

Hi Workrider, blazing khal looked good off his long break, another fine demonstration that this guy can train, but I still wouldn't trust him as far as you could throw me!!  better to get the losers out of the way before Cheltenham...as you know I bet El Fabiolo at Leopardstown and nothing I saw from Jonbon before or since tells me he's an Arkle winner (beaten a grand total of 6 horses, none of whom would have finished within 30 lengths at DRF)...let's hope Townend gets all his poor rides behind him soon..gl on Thursday, hope it's warmer than the day we met you there!

Two day weekend fixture at Navan in November pretty sure it will be two very good days national hunt racing.

Totally agree on your summary of the arkle Gordon

Gordon, I’m pretty sure Boothill would have finished within 30 lengths in the DRF and using the form of Banbridge he would have been under 10 lengths behind. You can only beat what takes you on.

Although to the eye Jonbon looked laboured on Saturday the time of the race was nearly the course record. Maybe Calico improved massively for the better ground. Who knows.

Both horses are no mugs and 2/1 Jonbon is the value now.

Was impressed by Hunters Yarn. Willie convinced hes a 2 miler and wants to go Supreme which suggests they would be looking @ Ballymore for Impaire Et passe in same colours who has already won over 2m 3.

I'd say Willies head is melted with all his options . Loads of changes before Cheltenham and least we forget he has a habit of putting a spoke in the wheel . Gordon I was amazed how fit Khal looked in the paddock but never had a bet in it , totally agree about Mr B....

Thought there were some real eyecatchers there, none more than Flanking Manuoevre having his 1st run for 2 years, came there cruising two out before Cooper decided to do some knitting before and after the last, also thought Indie Belle was very unlucky slipping after jumping the last, thought would have won.
To a lesser extent Legacy of Dreams did well to get into contention, only 7 lengths behind Wa Wa, after stumbling over a faller at the 1st, where jockey lost irons, a Miss P Elvin, 2 rides on horse prior to yesterday, 1st ptp by 14 lengths and a 3rd at Leopardstown for Rothwell, could find a little race.

Nice observations Stewarts , looking through my bins at Coopers mount 2 out Iturned to my mate and said its all over this is hacking up, defo one for the notebook . Indie Belle was very unlucky indeed looked for all the World a winner , did well to stand up. Didn't notice LODs if I'm honest...

I'm surprised the sherry drinkers didn't have a word with BJ Cooper in the aftermath of that ride as he can't say the horse emptied out as it was nearest at the finish.

Some brilliant euphemisms in here lads, as well as observation of course - many thanks
Sherry drinkers.    do some knitting.     head is melted.

Was looking for this thread on Saturday, couldn't find it, as i recalled Flanking Manoeuvre from that Navan run and ran in a Beginners chase at Fairyhouse Saturday. Anyway looking back at this thread i looked up the other horses i noted that day which i'd totally forgotten about Indie Belle who won 2 races afterwards at 7/2 and 7/1 and Rothwells, Legacy of Dreams who won a race at 28/1 after he put Sam Torrens on top. Memo to self must put horses on Nag me to remind me when they run!Laugh
