Another Nichols/Cobden flop

All you can think is that he used to say that most of his string would take it easy in january, get their vaccinations etc.
You can imagine most of todays runners might not have been 100%.

When I saw the card today with Cobden up on 6 favs and a 2nd or 3rd fav in the schweppes, it gets you thinking.
You see Townend in Ireland and he barely rides an odds against horse.


They cant win them all and outside the headliners Hitman and Greaneteen, how much attention would the others have got?
In years gone by the likes of Ruby and AP liked nothing more than racking up winner after winner.
I know that Gordon Richards despite his poor Derby record had such a rep with bookmakers they would seldom let one of his mounts go off less than 2/1.
But Cobden is not these men is he?
