That race was up there with the dodgiest races with some of the most inept riding by Professional riders (claimer or not)that I've seen in a long long time,not a great ad for the sport we love.

Agreed Punchestown and took Racing Post longer than normal to put up comments in running.Reading them now re-End Zone they give less than half the story,they mention the blindfold coming off late and him swerving left at the start.
They do not mention James switching him from far side to near side immediately and then like Poppy,going well up the near rail and then late on switching the horse to the outside too late. No way any punter should trust them or the Stewards to look out for them in any way shape or form,a whitewash by both so far and a race the BHA should look at retrospectively imo? |

THE SPREADEX SPORTS BEST PREMIER LEAGUE ODDS HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 5) Permission was given for MINTNTTHAT to go early to post. An enquiry was held into the running and riding of SHOWMEDEMONEY (IRE), ridden by Poppy Wilson and trained by Iain Jardine, which was held up at the back of the field until being asked for an effort inside the 1 ½ furlongs to finish fifth beaten 8 lengths. The rider and the representative of Jardine were interviewed and shown recordings of the race; the Veterinary Officer reported that post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities. The rider stated that her instructions were to settle the gelding towards the rear of the field before improving her position from 3 furlongs out. Wilson explained that she had found herself more detached than she had intended and in hindsight, that due to the slow early pace, she should have taken closer order and improved her position much sooner and had given SHOWMEDEMONEY (IRE) too much to do from 2 ½ furlongs out. The Representative of Jardine confirmed the instructions, and added that they were disappointed by the ride, adding that the rider had given SHOWMEDEMONEY (IRE) too much to do off a slow early pace due to the rider’s inexperience. Wilson was suspended for 10 days for asking for an effort too late as a result of a serious misjudgement. Following the race Paul Mulrennan reported that UMNEYATT (IRE), unplaced, weakened quickly inside the final 1 ½ furlongs. |

They do what they're told. Poor girl. Trainer is "shrewd". Yes, Mulrennan much better at it - he could get beat half a length and make it look much more "unlucky". ;) .... this is the game

quite a few iffy rides in that race tbh, they were spaced out like a 3m chase at Towester (rip)
it looked a clear non-jigger but not the only one, Sam James had time to go up the rails but chose not to then was blocked again by a weakening horse so had to switch round the rest of field more inept than anything else imo |

Banning Poppy for 10 days no punishment imo as she probably wouldnt get another ride for 10 days anyhow.....only way to punish them is through their pocket with a massive fine to deter others doing the same imo

You lot are never happy are you? With all the shenanigans that went on while you lot were learning the betting ropes (by all your 'heroes') it take some wander why you still bother betting. You've been conned all your lives but you only seem to care abut the last few years! Odd to say the least as it obviously isn't worse than it worse - you are prob a bit more wise!
