David Coleman's commentary on Filbert Bayi's 1500 metres world record  Commonwealth win in Christchurch in 1974 is still my favourite race and commentary....it hooked me on the sport as a kid.

Not on Youtube anymore unfortunately.

Toss up between carpenter,allis  and Coleman for me although I have to be honest I do enjoy the current Irish racing commentator.
