Quicker ground didn't look the same horse. Also race at Christmas might have left its mark.
I said it Friday and yesterday that this is the quickest ground these horses will have run on this season so far. And yet people are expecting the horses to run to the same form as they did on heavy. And then you also have those horses who will improve for the quicker ground who haven't been at their best this season before now.
It's a fair theory MJK BUT I bet you it doesn't stand up on the same Good ground at Cheltenham. Let's see.

thanks genius - I love patronising correction - it's a THEORY that it's the GOOD going that's making the difference. Let me give you another THEORY - this is a VERY corrupt game - some well connected high-rollers (including in the training ranks) and big gaming corporations who are VERY well suited to some quite odd form reversals. My theory is that if the going is Good at Cheltenham, the same horses that were supposedly put out by it will miraculously be suited by it at Cheltenham. The theory MIGHT be tested at Cheltenham. Depends on the going. We'll see. Trust me Tyred, if you think FORM is the answer, you might need a different game.
mullins runners are trained on ground watered to maintain heavy ground but seem to do ok at chelt and punchestown
Hate to be a stickler for facts. But the going at Leopardstown over Christmas was exactly the same as today and the same goes for the winning time.

I'm very surprised to hear that to be honest though I'd also be sure Lorcan Wyer is not gonna say otherwise.
The winner jumped better today than over Christmas. But that is still some turnaround in form.
Even Mullins said re Gentleman De Mee liked the better ground today. And the Paddy Power chase winner couldn't go the pace 'on the better ground today' according the trainer.
