How many races is that he's losing lengths by being so wide? They win when they have lbs in hand, but he's lost a load like this. And trying to be a smart ass running on the toutside road made him look even worse.

He does it all the time and as I say they'll win if they have Lbs in hand. But every bumper last two or three seasons that he rides in he's widest of all unless he leads. Even at the sharp tracks.

Irish bumper rule number one, don't EVER back a Patrick ridden Mullins fav when Jodie or any other is on another Mullins one in the same race.

Some having said Patrick rode a poor race lads , least we forget the form stood up , now if it only held up in every race we'd all be Millionaires...

Wondered if there'd be a thread on this. For what its worth as someone who backed PM's horse I was very disapointed. Back JT plenty in Bumpers and often taking PM on but couldn't see the placings being reversed this time. To my mind PM would have won if he hadn't tried to be so clever. I think JT is the better jockey and her horse wants further really so yesterday under those conditions (ground drying out a bit) it was the jockey that won the race. Switch jockeys different result!

If a trainer puts two in a race then they're not certain which will win(Unless one is a pace maker), punters rarely choose to heed the warning and think the number one jockey must be on the best one.

A classic example is Tenby 4/5F Commander in Chief 15/2, if Pat had choose CIC probably would of gone of 2/1F

What a poor Derby that were, two 150/1 shots filled 2nd and 3rd and both never won a race after if my memory serves me right.

Without looking it up CIC won the Glasgow Stakes when still run at York and looked a lot better than Tenby in Dante. For once I got the right one in the Derby!

Yes won Glasgow stakes by a neck 2/9F, beat Clive Brittain needle gun. Pat wasn't impressed he rode it that day and still choose Tenby.

he may , of course , be involved with some owners more than others and long term wise this may affect riding plans . incredibly busy life for just an amateur jockey isnt it !!!!
