Stephen Little had at least one result on the day: I popped into the chippy by the station after the last, and there was Little paying for his order at the counter, with his wallet lying on the floor behind him. The other customer in the shop was just pointing it out to him, which was just as well, or it would have ruined Little's arbing: "Won on the exchange. but lost in the chip shop."
Anyway, he pedalled off happily, and I went and caught my train home (on time, yippee) and stank the carriage out with cod, chips and loads of salt and vinegar. The perfect ending to one of those days when you give thanks that you're blessed with a love of horse racing. What a day!
