All these articles by motteshead etc clearly remind you that the other side of the industry, owners, trainers, racecourses etc just want your money.
They all need to wake up to the fact that most intelligent punters want a chance to win from their skills or they will desert you and bankrupt you. This STARTS with bookies not closing down accounts and or limiting stakes.
Racing is only funded if i am right through money bet on horses. Most of the problem gamblers are on the bookie casino sites... which i would ban . Most of the young uneducated gamblers just bet on football, no levy money
So racings core customers are sadly the ones who may actually win at the game. If bookmakers let us bet then they probably would still make a profit but they are short term robots so wont.

Owners fund racing far more than puntes, imo, they are definitely not in the bucket of "people who want your money".
Most owners will never cover their training fees with prize money, let alone purchase price and other expenses - on the whole, they do it for love of the sport.
The Racing Levy is just on bookie *profits* from Racing betting, so a good try but no, keeping winning Racing punters' accounts open would not increase the amounts available to the Levy - aiui.

As I stated yesterday from the introduction of the book The Art of Legging that was published two decades ago you can see how animal sports are being closed down on purpose.

You too can be a Racing Post Journalist - all you have to do (every day!) is rearrange these words into a different order:

Cant be long till there is an affordability check on people buying the Paper , How much is it now ?

The truth is there will always be punting on horse racing and although it may reduce because of these proposed affordability checks (personally I don't think it will much) and horse racing and its owners will do just fine. The types of tracks that will close down (if they do) we can do without anyway.
OP correct. I dont read them anymore. And Stopped tuning into their Youtube Channel. Punters have been treated poorly in this country, no wonder we have decided enough is enough!
As I stated many times. Bookmakers(Casinos) should of been Farmers, they have become Hunters! Dont bet with online bookmakers( Casinos) anymore is my advice. Stick to the exchanges if you can.

I get the odd email offering a free bet for something or other sent from RTV....and thats all.
I honestly cant recall the last correspondence from a bookie. I probably used the facility at the bottom of an email at some point that told them to not contact me....and they dont.

That's true - the modern breed don't even seem to have the decency to pretend they have a sportsbook (to use as a gateway to the casino/slots for the addicts) - they are just unashamedly flogging addictive reels & wheels.
Last nights snooker final (sponsored by a Crypto Casino
) - but 3 or 4 shameless casino adds in the time it takes the ref to rack them up between frames. And the channel itself sponsored by Grosvenor Casinos.

Last night a chat show (just happened to switch over/not a fan post Parky) was sponsored by a bookie. And, a large number (possibly a majority) of Freeview programmes late at night are sponsored by bookies pedalling games of chance eg bingo and slots.
Why the fuss ? let them ask……then tell them to F off
