Missing out obstacles due to the sun. Change the race times or move the obstacles. The sun has risen and set at the same time on any given date for 10,000 years and more.
Races late off. Any horse not at the start 5 minutes before the off fined, only 2 attempts to load before being withdrawn. That would soon sort it.
not sure why bookmakers should not base their prices on the exchanges. They have always based them on weight of money either in the shops, on course or from their credit customers. What is the difference?

Trainers that can't train horses to run consistently. So Twiston-Davies and V. Williams over NH, (thank god M. Johnson has retired!).

Stall handlers pushing, shoving, lifting a class 6 rag for 5 minutes to get in in the starting stalls, with a hood over its head and the jockey pulling its tail forward, that is running in blinkers, that has never/will never win a race. Horse clearly not up for it, and sadly the owner(s)/trainer(s) put it up.
BHA always promoting welfare, but they allow this to go on day after day.

I'm not a woke by any means, just a caring person. Maybe someone with better knowledge will say that the horse is not suffering, but, whatever, it does not look good, and, furthermore, I don't understand what an owner(s) get out of it, especially with what it must be costing them every week/month.

All done in the best interests of providing betting fodder for the bookmaking industry lol

Kate Harrington being allowed to speak on Tv, ditto Josh Apiafi on the other channel. Any longer than 30 minutes between races. Trainers whose horses won't go into the stalls. Jumps missed due to low winter sun the worst thing of all if you've backed a good jumper. All jockeys who won't ride out for a place. Jamie Spencer full stop. Jockeys who go wide losing ground. Jockeys who get half lengthed at a fence then horse duly makes a mistake more often than not. Trainers who don't have their horses fit first time.

Yes I know it is part of the sport and the vast majority have a wonderful life up to that point... but it doesn't make it any easier for me to accept. It goes without saying any seriously injured jockey as well.

I can't see this interviewing nonsense ending any time soon. They even insisted on an interview with Sir Andy Murray at 4am after nearly 6 hours on court. If you don't do your interview in football, athletics (mixed zone nonsense) and tennis you can be thrown out of the competition. Racing is going the same way. All to do with TV producers and sponsors. I would watch just as much racing if the only sound all afternoon was the racecourse commentary and if they spent more time showing the horses walking round the paddock and galloping to post it would improve my enjoyment no end. If a sportsperson chooses to never say a single word in public, why should that affect his chances of being a champion?

2. In no particular order:

1)Non-triers

2) Vast amounts of low-grade racing (which is ALWAYS to the bookies' advantage) relative to the odd week or Saturday of good stuff which is too much to get a handle on.

3) The fact that you can never get anywhere with it, it's always attritional losses destroying winning streaks. Every season, flat or jumps, has a sweet spot followed by everything going tits up.

4)Sod's law. I can't think of any other betting medium which is so bent out of shape by sod's law (and that's without pricing in skullduggery).

5) The pretence that there is no dark, negative side to racing.

6) How the punter is shat on all the way down the line.

7) When horses are killed. It makes me feel rather ashamed.

8) The mass deception of training in public.

9) Races that aren't races, just play-acting like Saturday wrestling.

10) The sheer sod-the-public, could-not-give-a-toss attitude of most racecourses towards punters' needs.

626 is spot on with this observation - "ITV showing earlier races....and giving the result, instead
of showing the last couple of furlongs with commentary"

That'd be far too sensible a suggestion which would please EVERY viewer/enthusiast, so there's
no fcukin' chance of that - it's been happening for decades and I've emailed to complain, but as
ever, NOTHING changes...and besides, those extra 30 seconds which could be allotted to an earlier
race is gonna compromise the time quota of the totally unnecessary Spúnkett to name but one.

Also, when the judge is set to announce the result (usually for a place) and the gób**** presenters
talk over the loud speaker...and then don't tell us what we were struggling to hear - infuriating! Angry

However, when it comes to the racing industry, we have to stand in awe at what is undoubtedly the
undisputed Olympiad, heavyweight champion of everything negative in the sport...the disgusting,
greedy, ignorant, greasy, parasitic, disingenuous RACING POST & their thick as pigshít, double-digit IQ
journalists Angry

Just how the fcuk have these bástards managed to 'stumble' upon a monopoly in this industry?
And then DEMAND subscriptions for basic information that should be readily available online?

We used to have The Sporting Chronicle & The Sporting Life and although being a breath of fresh air
when the RP first appeared in 1986 (I've still got the first three editions) it's been a rapid decline
and more noticeable since the advent of the internet which should've made things much better - it almost
seems conspiratorial...like a well executed internecine plan.

I cannot stand it that these chancers are reporting on basic news that demand payment and consequently
they have negatively impacted on my interest in the game Sad That's akin to Sky's boxing coverage
which has taken the sport away from the average working man.

My mate actually subscribes to these fcukers to help with his studying and there's still plenty
of basic stuff he can't access (even an opinion piece by one of their 'star performers' like Lord Farquaad)
'cos they want even more money! Shocked

I'm not the slightest bit interested in the views of their so called journalists (or more appropriately
presstitutes) but it seems fraudulent to charge for many articles - how has this been allowed to digress
in this manner?

Maybe I've got too many splinters in my árse by sitting on the fence too much...as I evidently have
difficulty expressing my feelings towards these vermin.

PS - why is the ATR website so poor and ineptly designed?
Unfortunately, being conversant with the workings of the RP website makes it my reluctant first choice...a
bit like continuing to use a bookmaker's website due to familiarity of the site's access/navigation - I don't
think I'd be alone on that score.

PPS - that thread I saw on here about a winner returned 20/1 SP yet its Bumfair SP was just over 16/1.
That had me apoplectic with rage...seeeething!
The game's finished and won't exist in 50 years or so, after we're all gone Cry
