I haven't read anything about his stance on independence, his demeanour on court alienates him from many as does the negative press from off the cuff remarks. He does a huge amount for charity and for tennis imo he is far more than a top class tennis player, his whole family deserves loads of credit.

Top notch sportsman , he played in the greatest stretch of tennis in history when Novak , Rafa and Federer were in their pomp , unlucky to born when he was in some ways as 15 years either side he'd have won 10 grand slams , he really was that good in his prime.
Irrelevant whether you like him or not but hard not to accept his comeback as nothing short of remarkable.

I'm English, but have nothing but respect for what Andy Murray achieved.
In a hugely competitive sport, coming from a country that barely played it (Scotland), against a worldwide pool of massive talent. In an era that was possibly the greatest will ever be for great players. Yet still took titles at the highest level in the game.
Incidentally, as a child was almost killed by a the madman at Dunblane - many would have left that with trauma.
Has a great wit and self-deprecation if you read things he's said or posted too - very humble but a true great sportsman and fighter.

I don;t look but you can;t escape some of it. A grown man roaring like a bull as if he has just conquered the unconquerable is "newsworthy" apparently.
And I don;t hate the female jockey. I do despise her however and that is something completely different.
