Offscreen altogether, only just started since I had fibre broadband installed, had previously been on a Dongle with no probs... Was thinking of changing my Browser from chrome to the windows 10 recommended Edge. ??

Haven't got an external mouse, use the touch pad.

Seriously, try cleaning the touchpad with a microfibre cloth. Perhaps even with a very, very small drop of water.

Maybe I should just buy an external mouse ? Can't be that Dear.

Sounds like a driver issue. Put mouse into another port

Keep trying then reboot. If not its lint buildup, or hardware issue loose connection...

@GC

"Maybe I should just buy an external mouse ? "

What are you using that is not an external mouse - the touchpad on the laptop?  I can just about bear them when out-and-about if I have to.  Home, home office and real office all have proper mice (well, actually trackballs as they are my preference).

Might just be wearing out after 4 tears GC,try a very light spray of WD 40 whilst holding upside down,turn over immediately and work pad rapidly,them wipe with dry cloth to remove excess,whatever you do don't put water near it like some genius suggested.

Morning Glasgow,

I can't get on with touch pads of any description, i always prefer a wireless mouse, even on the Galaxy tablet i have.

They are not expensive (you need a USB port) but easier to use, faster response time, and no issues if you need to use a right button.

Morning Andrew, I get all that and will look into getting a Mouse, not really sure why I never bought one when I purchased the Computer, I remember the salesman saying that the Touchpad works the same as a Mouse. Probably something on the market to replace the mouse by the time I buy one. Laugh

My gmail page suddenly changed from a format I was used to and liked to one I hated. How did that happen? I do not know how to describe the new format but I was asked repeatedly to change to this new format a few weeks ago. Anyone please?

Gave up using the touchpad years ago.  Far more efficient with a wireless mouse.

I had a similar problems a few years back when I bought a new Dell laptop, the cursor constantly freezing, think it was a static build-up problem.

Bought a wireless mouse and no problem since.
