Surely they're going to have ease off with him and come back for the turf before his claim disintegrates.
Ok mr correspondent, I’ll bow to your knowledge but I’d still question the removal of a jockey claiming 7 after finishing twice on it in its last two races. However, I’m sure you’ll clear it all up with a sentence containing something like, “there’ll be no animosity between mark and young Billy, it’s just business, Billy knows that”
Also why has Mark let him ride Moveonup in the 3.40 for Gaye Kelleway, putting up Cam Hardie on his horse who rarely rides for him and hasn't ridden a winner for him either, you'd think he'd be pleased to take 7lbs off Won Loves' back in a classified stakes.

the trouble with taking outside rides is if the other connections(e.g.Gay Kelleway) weren't in on the tactics he'll soon be losing outside rides.
He should get rid of his claim as soon as possible rather than being held back for supposed big races on turf. Who knows, tomorrow he could be hit by the proverbial Clapham Omnibus so best make the most of it while he is riding so well.
the last apprentice I can remember that hit the ground running was Robert Tart, he rode his claim out in a season and a bit and then his career was all but over. Loughnane will always have his dad for rides, but still be daft to blow the claim too quickly.

But it's not just the big handicaps, if his ambition is to be Champion Apprentice, and not just on the AW, then his chances will be improved if he still has most of his claim going into the turf season.
It was Harry Davies who burst on the scene last winter and got through his 7lb claim fairly quickly.
Tbf, he still gave it a good shot for the apprentice title and was only beaten by a potential top notcher.
And a 5lb claimer has won the race in recent times.

thats the thing..he has no future..if he has its over jumps, he is growing at a rate of knots he will be 6ft 4 in a few months so thats why they are striking while the irons hot
Must be awful to be precocious and want to get to the top as quickly as possible, only to be surrounded by grubby handlers who want to land some punts so kybosh his efforts to ride out his claim as quickly as possible.
If I was one of his grubby handlers/advisors I'd be giving him the same advice though, nae problem 
It's mentioned here that his height could become an issue, and according to The Sun, Gordon Elliott wants to sign Billy up to ride over jumps

Gets the leg up on one of Charlie Appleby's tomorrow at Wolver 6.15, Sapphire Seas. Appleby also has another runner in the race with Probert aboard.
