In the 70's in a country in Asia I was told a jockey on a hotpot who screwed up was hauled-off his mount on his way back in before he'd reach the enclosure. He also received a beating infront of other racegoers who just looked on.

No bookie is permitted to cohort with a jockey or any stable. An owner can place a bet to win or each-way though.

I remember an owner sticking one on Fallon at Brighton…..

Been a lot of coy looking riders coming back from a race in this country….

Or disgruntled punters/racegoers waiting for the jockey concerned in the car park - there really was no hiding place. Would they even contemplate repeating their unprofessionalism again? If so, their immediate family could be next.
