got to be a record for a 2m5f race surely? That's what happens when you actually get a race full of triers.

Good class race on heavy ground, seems sensible to me they don't want bottom the horses out, with still plenty of good targets left this season, when all chances of a placing has gone. No steward is going to query pulling up a tired horse.

Even though offically the ground were soft, it were more soft to heavy and Definity heavy in a few places. When I were doing the form this morning think only 2( Up the parol was one) had won on soft to heavy and another 2 won on heavy. Big pot up for grabs think trainers just took their chance.

We have always heard a lot about how Chepstow and Lingfield jump tracks can be horrible ground when wet but for several years I have considered the finishing straight at Kempton to be the worst. It seems to be very different to the rest of the course so jockeys go fast round the back and then the horses hit a wall in the straight. Watch the King George won by Best Mate to see how high class horses were down to a walk up that straight.
