She might think she is, but is she really needed? By Irish standards it's an ordinary meeting, and they already have two pundits. I don't notice Gary O'Brien popping over here to bolster the numbers.

Of course all profits go back to racing, as we are often reminded.

rather than arguing /debating which horse was best served by 4 flights in straight been omitted, sometimes its just easier to say this card is a right off and not worth going in to it in micro detail
z in 1st couldnt jump a fence between them, finished a distance in front of 3rd after exploring every inch of the track
1 to 9 shot dots up after 2nd fav crashes through a fence
big race 4 flights in straight omitted
1 to 4 shot dots up in un competitive hurdle

mslop has few peers as a presenter but shes not a pundit. he opinions are obvious and uninspring. suspect shes there because shes been doing some of that cheltenham bollox and they just decided to grab her for a few hours. but i dont know.

would be hard to credit she flew over just for this when we could have had mangan or berry. surprised nobody mentioned fmb put up a winner hed backed at 50 -sp 25- at dundalk on friday.

interesting thread . i am a fan of lydia but felt today she was almost trying too hard to come across  ' informed ' . sounded as if she felt she had to be more serious about a ireland meeting . name dropping irish racing people she had talked to . think it was don mclean who was almost a side act . ...lydia needs to be home based . brilliant at times . with respect , she is not going to get an angle that jane mangan can go on about .

she,s getting great feedback on twitter over her appearance
but if i,m commenting on a racing forum about watching a subscription channel on a sunday i,m no racing newbie and thought it was a horrendous advert for irish/uk racing, makes you wonder what lydia and her fanboys consider a decent /interesting days racing

Is this great feedback on her own twitter page? You wouldn't anything else. I have never quite understood all the fawning.

No idea why she was in Ireland yesterday. I can only speculate. My impression is there are a couple of big egos at play at Racing TV. Snooty gets 'Luck On Sunday' so Hislop has to get 'Road To Cheltenham'. Perhaps this little 'holiday' was reward for the perceived 'bag carrying' at the major meetings. I doubt she likes playing second fiddle to anyone.

Yesterday, like her or not, there was just no need for her to be present, at least in front of a camera.

A barrowload of media people left the forum years back…..the warriors chased them away….

The only one I can’t have is the one that squawks a lot on Sky….

You wouldn’t abuse them on a racecourse in person…so why be a keyboard coward ?
