I am looking for suggestions for a new place to keep my Horse Ratings. Currently i use the Racing Post, but the cost is now up to £249 just to keep these records for me, as i don't really use the racing post for anything else.

Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks

Gustavo -how long does it take you to do your own ratings, please ? With the number of runners each day seven days a week , I'd have thought it would be nigh on impossible to keep on top of things -and that's before you take Irish runners into account.

Horseracebase.com has an excellent platform for building your own ratings. You will see them automatically every day on your account - and you can build as many versions as you want.

Tiger, with respect, if the OP's jibbing at paying £249/year to the Post he's/she's unlikely to consider switching to HRB where the cheapest account is a 'Recreational' account that costs £25/month and has a limit of 10 sets of ratings.

An 'Enhanced' account subscription, where there is no limit on the number of sets of ratings maintained, would cost £35/month.

Quite right top2rated, I forgot that I was a locked in lifetime subscriber at quite a considerable discount, as you are more than likey.

Manoleeds, It is a very time-consuming undertaking, but i do find it quite enjoyable, especially when it pays off. The biggest success i have found with using my own ratings is when backing against overrated short priced horses.
I don't have the time to rate every race, so i have to limit myself by ignoring lower graded races.

Seem to recall Onlooker said he rated every race in Britain, might give an insight into how time consuming it is.

The Timeform website. It's free to keep extensive notes on every horse and there's no limit on the number of characters used. Bizarrely there is a limit on the RP website even though the "notes" section is only available via a subscription.
