This might sound like a silly question but do bookies offer this sort of bet or is it only found on the exchange?

Ladbrokes used to in shop, don't frequent to often these days so not absolutely sure.

Betfair Sportsbook - most races more than one Betway - most races more than one B365 - usually 1 per race Betfred - at least one per race HTH |

It definitely is offewred on the Exchange every day - I bet on them every day.
They go up late, and sometimes get missed from some races, but I cannot recall a day without any. And the BF Sportsbook do offer them, often more than one per race. |

Usually underneath the main market or in other markets. They take them down 10 mins before the race starts, god knows why! |

I do the match bets on here often.
Part of the fun is waiting for the head on to see if your one finished ahead of t'other at the back of the field.  |

Billy Hills offer a number on every race, every day and you often find the exchanges pair up the same 2 horses as the big books.
BUT, be very cautious with Billy Hills. I used to hold my own on match bets with them but I just cannot beat them now. Why? Because they often pair up a 'form' horse against one which has a much less obvious chance of winning. So, you think you have found the holy grail by backing the from horse in the match only to see the outsider win, or even win the whole race. I suspect that what they are doing is putting 'dark' horses into their match bets which they have seen money for in the overall market. It has got to the stage now where the next time I just want a fun bet I am going to back all the Billy Hill match bets outsiders in a match-bet multiple! |
