apple juice.

every time a trainer wins a boatload of races someone comes out with the magic carrots line. tedious. its not carrots.

it is highly refined and scientifically tested-to-death diabolic steroids used in conjunction with an even more sophisticated masking agent. theyve become ever more crafty since alza rooney copped the blame, conveniently for racing as everybody knows it came from the top and roids were legal in dobuy at the time

What is tedious is the old conpiracy theories wheeled out
when someone does well.

Penzance correct, surely people are entitled to question the HUGE improvements coming from a yard that was the pinnacle of shame due to the previous occupant...

If you can afford to buy the best horses, keep the best mares and pay for the best stallions then you will eventually have most of the best horses. It takes a couple of generations and a big pool of horses, but it will always work with flat horses. Jumps are different thank goodness. Coolmore, Juddmonte and Godolphin will dominate so long as the owners have vast sums of money. Shadwell are not far behind but will the enthusiasm wane since Sheikh Hamdan died?

There's an interesting book about Coolmore on amazon caaled "the Black horse" I believe, wriiten by a former employee.
Might be worth Wonky reading it.

The principal theme of this sequel to The Black Horse Inside Coolmore is the level of exploitation of racehorses across the globe through the illegal use of drugs. Alongside runs the equally sickening abuse of the people who work day in and day out with the horses to make the show what it is on a good day - mesmerising, breathtaking, unique. US racing is on its knees after 37 horses died at Santa Anita, California, with decades of a recklessly permissive attitude towards medication playing a major role in this welfare disaster. There is an old saying - when America sneezes the world catches a cold. It's happening in Irish gvv v v v racing, which is awash with illegal drugs. Instead of dealing strongly with the cheats, the Irish authorities have covered up major incidences of doping and downplayed the seriousness of a situation which is out of control and threatens the future of a once dominant sport. The author reveals the depths to which racing worldwide has fallen, ruined by greed and corruption, exploitation and injustice.

Any rule breaking or drug use needs to be stamped out of course but I still don't believe it can turn a poorly bred horse with a poor conformation into anything other than a poor racehorse.

Of course it's unlikely to turn a poor racehorse into a champion but I'm absolutely certain, your poor horse will win plenty of poor races when juiced up..

If you can get away with it, why wouldn't you?
