Gambling giant Betway has been fined more than £400,000 for advertising on a children’s colouring page on West Ham United’s website.

It displayed its logo on two pages of the Premier League club’s site designed for children, breaking the Gambling Commission’s rules on social responsibility, between 2020 and 2021.

One breach lasted for three weeks, but the logo on the other page – where children could print a picture of a teddy bear to colour in – remained for more than 18 months.

Betway have had more fines from the regulator than the staff at Number 10 have had from the Met!

What they do (slots and casino) is so lucrative, that even that £11m fine a few years back didn't deter them.

A mighty and fearless "bookmaker" Blush with enough money to sponsor an EPL team - yet they will only take 21 pence each way on the horses, Laugh so children are probably a good target market for them.

My son had a bad experience with BETWAY he backed the open golf winner with them and it took around 2 months to get paid ,lots of questions and proof of his identity ignoring emails the denial in the fact that they had received them,I should think it would be wise to avoid them.

If you post/read on this forum you will know exactly what to expect.
The MO is the same across the board.
If you bet with any of them you will get the same standard of customer service.

just a bunch of chancers.  don't want you betting / winning on golf, horses etc.  they want you on the live casino, the casino, the vegas. the online model allows them, and every bookie, to analyse every bet you place & if you're persona non grata its adios amigo.

If you have a Betway account. Do the right thing and close it down now.

The gambling commission must be corrupt, otherwise there's no reason for them to let every crook and clown run a bookmaking business. In every other industry the customer is protected, in gambling the customer gets shat on the head.

If you are winning and show any signs of being a smart punter you will likely have a fight to get your money out imo.

My trouble with Betway is not deposit but withdrawl.Made numerous smallish withdrawls with success last evening after the football decided to make a much larger withdrawl, email mid morning informing me that my withdrawl was unsuccessful to my chosen method. Balance now at 33p funds missing.Slightly concerned something going on.Like others needs must to get on,only a last resort as been having lately some nice juicy prices on the football needless to say last night was one of these occasion I found.

That's nice, but how many of those 100 bookies take normal-sized bets from shrewd punters? There's nothing stopping the gambling commission from mandating a minimum bet size a bookie has to accept to keep a licence. Yet, no such thing is in sight. Bookies therefore get away with false advertising, luring you with the promise of big wins and banning you if you actually do win. It's a joke if a giant like Bet365 can get away with not accepting a 5 quid e/w bet on a 3/1 shot.

maybe 365's minimum stakes should be linked to the owners salary.

currently a million quid a day.

Betting limits a different thing altogether from trust.  Trust is about honouring and paying out the bet that has been struck, without having to resort to involving third parties, writing honest reviews or threatening or actually going through with court action.
