see for yourself
https://www.matchbook.com/events/horse-racing I haven't used my account on MB for an age. It used to be generally accepted that most of the money put up was their own, so winners were not welcome, but I have no idea if that were true at the time nor if it still is. |
|

I have been on their site, but it doesn't seem to show the amount traded on each race, also cannot see if they have a live video of the racing, and just looked on another review site and it says the commission rate is 4%.

the amount traded is shown in the market header (eg: "16:10 Ripon 1m 0f 0y | Matched Volume: £156,224") but be aware almost everyone else (incl MB) counts matched volume differently (in my view, more sensibly) than BF, so you cannot compare the numbers easily.
though to me "liquidity" is about the amount available, not the amount traded; it should be a measure of how much money is there for you or me to take (which is surely what we care about) rather than how much has been taken by others? |

Liquidity is really strong this year so big improvements over there. I find it much easier to get matched on most sports. They are generally 2%NW not 4% and I see you can get 90 days at 0% currently so worth trying it out. CS is really good too-you don't have to talk to robots!

Never bothered with them before , but just took a look and there "seems" to be a hell of a lot more money being matched then on here
3-10 120k against 30k 3-40 150k against 15k 4-15 113k against 14k |

Find those figures hard to believe but then I don't know how they calculate the money traded.

"there "seems" to be a hell of a lot more money being matched then on here" I think I have mentioned this before, but all the other exchanges I am aware of (MB, 'daq, Smarkets) calculate money matched differently from BF. I think they are nearer right and BF nearer wrong, but it makes comparisions very hard. £2 matched at 10 on BF is counted as £4 (twice the backer's stake. I have no idea why) £2 matched at 10 on MB is counted as £2 of backer's money matching £18 of layer's money for a total of £20 matched. |

Even if you ignore the different matched volume calculations, you can liquidity available in the boxes and the overrounds that they are matching and sometimes beating what is available here. There's definitely a better chance of getting a tenner matched earlier in the day. Got so hard on here in recent times.

Just noticed the recent posts, as someone that likes to play the US racing, I noticed there were only 3 US meetings on offer, all 3 were low grade stuff, while Betfair
we're offering Saratoga and Woodbine plus several other meetings that were not on Matchbook. Another thing was I am retired so will affordability checks prove a problem, as they have with Betfair (am limited to £100 per month that is not far off what my grandchildren get for pocket money), so will they limit me.TIA for any replies. |

In running any good racing?

It's still off here a bit but it's improved considerably in last few minutes. I assume they've picked up loads of disgruntled guys from here.

Who is second best after here
Daq.match or smark |

Match and its not even close

Just wondering what the other exchanges are like in comparison to betfair.
I understand Purple and MB are peer to peer like betfair, but Smkts is different in that they put up there own funds. I don't know if this is true or not. I have used smkts a little bit off and on, and have had no problems so far, also their customer service seems OK,much better than here at any rate. |
|
By:
If winners are not welcome than can anyone tell me what is the point?
|
|
By:
Good point pmbets.
It would be pointless, so are betfair the only exchange that allows winners, or do any others also allow winners. I am assuming at the moment that smarkets do not allow winners, are there any others? |
|
By:
Betfair allow winners, but you have to pay a hefty charge for the privilege.
|

the whole exchange landscape needs investigated with much more rigorous regulation.
if anyone wins we'll ban them. why ? because most of the money on show will be ours, so we're basically acting as bookmakers. even though we have an exchange licence .... |

Sure there was a post on here a few years ago which could've
been about this outfit. It was about a 1.01 bet or some bet @ very short odds.Bloke see a big error and took the bet, only for the bet to be made void,if I'm right. |

Who are the other exchange, not the Purple site.?
Could've been them. |

By:
ergo it was them on the other side of your bet. otherwise they wouldn't be remotely interested.
so is it an exchange, or simply a bookie whereby they take your bets, move the market away from you (and for them) if they see or suspect trading, and if you win just void it to save them paying out & give you a free bet. |
