9.6 the last priced matched the winner
Report Wesdag August 10, 2022 3:51 PM BST
the RTV still "on the line" isn't the actual foto finish still so betting on that is a mug's game
Report stu August 10, 2022 4:02 PM BST
I always wonder where the 'line' actually is - easily open to abusing it IMO.
Report dustybin August 10, 2022 4:06 PM BST
Its a strange world make no mistake
Look at football betting, they suspend for all sorts, I suppose the equivalent would be VAR checking if the ball has gone over the line.
Do they allow betting on that?

How many times do pundits say 'its a funny angle here'
Yeah like every****where but theyve never given enough of a 5hit to sort it
Report freddiewilliams August 10, 2022 4:11 PM BST
Where's rico
Report bilbobaggins August 10, 2022 4:45 PM BST
Based on the photo the only way Qipao could have won is if the 'line' was at a 45 degree angle .

So the line must come slightly earlier than expected
Report Rico-Dangleflaps August 10, 2022 5:22 PM BST
deffo isnt in middle of rail gap Grin
Report Rico-Dangleflaps August 10, 2022 5:22 PM BST
camera 10-20yds off the ground looking down toward mirror..from what angle though Excited
Report howard August 10, 2022 6:29 PM BST
Looking at the post on this side the black piece tied to it is the mirror. Correct ?
Report Rico-Dangleflaps August 10, 2022 6:35 PM BST
yes

why do they have the gap in the rail if that isnt where the photo is? is that a massive red herring?
Report Jumping-cuckoo-monk August 10, 2022 6:49 PM BST
They've even mown a strip in the wrong place looking at that. Mown strip = rough guide to finish line?
The groundsman has had it right off!
Report Jumping-cuckoo-monk August 10, 2022 6:50 PM BST
had a small bet on photo bomb in next. sort of coincidence bet i spose Cool
Report Rico-Dangleflaps August 10, 2022 6:51 PM BST
are the track really bothered about the gap being right or the mown strip?  are they fck.

correct.
Report tanglefoot August 10, 2022 6:55 PM BST
Photo is correct according to how the camera is position, but camera looks misaligned if u look at the mown strip and the gap in the far railing
Report Rico-Dangleflaps August 10, 2022 7:01 PM BST
photo cant lie but it aint coming from the angle we would be led to believe.
Report stewarty b August 10, 2022 7:28 PM BST
That was two good photos you put up steve and as you say the photo cant lie. That said, if you look at the winning post and the post across from it it appears like a two feet gap?

Maybe an optical illusion but you can see quite obviously why a good few punters got it wrong.

Any luck today?

The arms of the jockey on the winner are in a different position in the two photos. And it's not compression as the orange sleeves are stretched out.
Report screaming from beneaththewaves August 10, 2022 11:07 PM BST
No sign of the winning jockey's perpendicular whip in the LH picture either.

Looks as though I picked the right day to go and do a bit of hoovering at the cricket in Taunton.
Report Rico-Dangleflaps August 10, 2022 11:14 PM BST
newcastle is another tricky one..camera comes from a box 10yds above the ground on the inside of the track..the angle isnt as it looks on the slo mo.

Wasn't there a similar thing at Redcar a year or two back, but it only lasted for one or two meetings?
Report Movewiththetimes August 10, 2022 11:44 PM BST
I backed 2nd and like most in the slow-mo was convinced the dip was right! Agree groundsman had it right off or it's run by Delboy LaughLaugh
Report Rico-Dangleflaps August 10, 2022 11:52 PM BST
aye redcar had a strange anomaly..as has carlisle..as has haydock..prob others as well.
