In relation to OP, I concur, but why ?What is the reason that the standard is in our opinion so bad. The amount of poorly judged rides is incredible. I would live to know the answer.Hollie Doyle is as good as any of the current top jockeys riding at the moment. A great jockey in my opinion is one who can win on a horse that shouldn't necessarily have won.A good jockey is one who makes very very few mistakes during a race. There are very few of the above riding today
Might sound odd but for me it's too much racing. Too many bad jockeys getting too many rides because if the amount of racing. Surely that practice should mean better jockeys? Not if they're riding against each other every day instead of the very best. Reminds me of a footballer going to a higher standard league/team. All things being equal that footballer will get better playing/training with a higher standard of player. Imop it's the same with jockeys. They won't improve by riding against mostly poor jockeys every day. Also it seems that these 'teachers' in the riding schools seem to think that it's more important to be 'stylish' rather than capable.
