If you are a fisherman you have decent bait BUT
These winning distances are actually calculated by horse finish times, not a distance stick visually on a screen. 1 second = X Lengths. So 1m 37.76 seconds v 1m38.09 seconds is converted to 1 and 3/4 L. This calc also takes the ground into consideration I think. It just about marries up with the distance it visually was but can be a little out. I thought that might be on the 2 and a 1/4 side of 2L if anything, seems harsh. |

agree it did "look" 2l
0.31s between 1st & 2nd 6lps for flat racing on quick ground 6 x 0.31 = 1.86...rounded to 1.75 if had been 0.32s would have called 2l...u/l |

They actually installed a high power Fan 100yd out to be switched on as soon as the 2nd went past it , hence causing the 2nd to lose by 1.75L rather than 2L, HTH

Thanks for the replies, never knew that about the times calculating the distances.
I would suggest they have their figures wrong somewhere then. It was only a free bet anyways but made worse by the fact I was going to roll the winnings on Hollie in the next race @8/1. Think she is destined to be top jockey soon. |
