Butlers brief who fell at the 4th last got up and galloped into the 3rd last and got stuck. Had to sedate him etc to get him out

Sky said the earliest racing can resume is 7.30 but that is unlikely. Doubtful they can complete the remaining 5 races

Still not resolved and I wonder if the "antis" have got hold of it yet.  They will surely make a meal of this if the poor beast has suffered and had to be euthanised.

Going back to the original post what is now the reason for the delay? They have said the horse is okay a while ago. It's either terrible communication, or Apiaffi isn't doing his job.

I doubt if the course are too bothered. No refund as 2 races run; bars open; nothing to distract from the drinking. Probably get away with keeping the prize money for the last 5 races. I'd say they are made up. I am at a loss to understand why there is still a delay as well DD

What is the point of having an on course reporter? Can you imagine if this was mainstream and nobody bothered to find out what was going on?

The 6.30 delayed due to a collapsed paddock, but they're sorting that out.

To be fair he has interviewed plenty of people. Nothing about the delay though

Apiafi is truly awful and useless and is on all the time! You couldn't make it up. What are they doing? Told us horse was out of open ditch and coming round ages ago.

Two fat ladies, 88! Not that you'd find these ladies at a bingo hall, of course... they're altogether a higher class of fat lady.

Hard to see how they will allow racing to continue after 830 as the majority of the crowd are here for the dj

No horses in the parade ring so unlikely to have more than one more race due to entertain after racing people already by the stage

It must have taken him 90 minutes to convey what was going on? How could you have not known that the horse was still on the track? 

Pipe clearly made a wise move keeping his bumper horse in at Newton Abbot tomorrow.

As a paying customer I don’t think the racecourse has done a bad job tonight in difficult circumstances the connections of horses running in race 3 ,4 and 5 have got to see there horses run and of course there will be 3 sets of very happy owners,the racecourse continually kept people up to date and were keen to stress the distressed horse was the most important issue.

Those on course were kept pretty well informed can’t comment on the tele.

What they did get badly wrong was the omitting of hurdles in the last ,that seemed a lazy decision.

all very weel to poke fun but i doubt there are many places that would go to such lengths and inconvenience the punters because one nag was in difficulty. credit for that. alistair rafe should be pulled in for giving the thing too much gear.

i wont complain about my bet on a 20/1 shot that was trading at half that when racing was abandoned. no way.
