hide balance option

they've removed the option. part of safer gambling. an absurd decision

the worlds gone mad no reasoning to it whatsover.

What the hell? Absolutely ridiculous - if I have a big day I like to keep it hidden  as to avoid you know, going on tilt - safer gambling my arse.

exactly, it's the oppposite of safer gambling. problem gamblers are less likely to hide their balance. it's a tool good traders use to not get obsessed with outcome

helpdesk are saying it's nothing to do with safer gambling but a web developer issue, could be a glitch, getting back to me

this is bloody typical of BF upgrades.  They roll 'em out... wait for us to test them... and then they roll 'em back.  Been going on for decades.

Gone for me too, you can manually block the balance with an adblocker though and that's what I've done.

Dont think thatll be popular, know a couple that like to bet at BFSP, purposefully not tune into any racing, sometimes leaving RacingUK recorded on SkyGo for days on end, hiding balance until watched, bla. Sounds like a poor idea to me but if you think how much time you can save whilst they f around at the start it does sound more appealing.

What is difficult about adding it via a different dropdown menu.

I use the "alternative colour scheme" on the website and have never seen this option before.  Can someone please tell me where that hide option was located.

My adblocker is called adblock, install it free and it gives an option on the toolbar to hide something on this page, and just click on the part of the page that shows the balance.

I think it was when you click the arrow next to balance there was a Hide Balance option

Yep, it works, and if want to see your balance you can have another window open for Account/MyBest/etc and it's still visible there.

Presumably from a "Responsible Gambling" perspective - they are still working on the option to "hide" the Casino, Slots, Live Casino, Exchange Games Bingo and Virtual Sports?

Though TBF it does sort-of exist - I permanently self-excluded from everything apart from sports betting when I first opened my account (not that I don't trust myself, more a damage-limitation in case of my account being hacked in the days before 2FA).

I’m genuinely amazed how many people hide their balance. I’ve always found it a pain in the arse whenever I’ve done it accidentally.

I do it s.kenbo because I like to check if a horse has won/lost by checking each runner line by line... if my balance is visible I know if the bet has won/lost before I have a chance to do this.

I can totally understand that. If I’ve had a bet in a race I haven’t watched then I will sometimes squint at my balance and try and work out if it’s gone up! Little idiosyncrasies we all have!

The hide balance was very handy when the wife was nearby...

When you Return home - You Do NOT want to look at your Betfair Account STRAIGHT AWAY - and see that you have 'done your brains'

Far gentler let-down - to either  watch the Race Replays  - or, still more anticipatory, to check the Results in Reverse order (Last horse first - it can be done) ... than INSTANTLY see your Balance decimated.

'Hide Balance' = the perfect Tool for that.

Use "Ublock orgion" on Firefox or chrome. Then use the element picker mode in options. Highlight the numbers then click" create.

"Reload page" The same as before. Hope this helps

If you wish to keep balance hidden, there's always the option of pinning small window on top of that specified area.

Any type of widget can be used(small digital clock etc..) Alternatively, I find that Windows Sticky Notes work quite well(as shown in photo below)

And what can be used to pin them is very useful app called DeskPins.. (which can be downloaded from link below)

The hypocrisy around 'responsible' gambling is boggling must admit - casino/bingo games everywhere in the world/net/TV but apparently responsible gambling is encouraged.

All these suggestions as how to 'Hide the Balance'
