What a joke, early on RTV decided not to show an Irish meeting live at all on a busy Saturday and since then the Irish have insisted that every second of their races be broadcast live seemingly. A bit of common sense says we can join the Limerick race full screen 1 minute in.

shocking decision by the producer...why cant we just miss the first half mile of a low grade poxy hurdle at limerick

Crazy decision but they seem to give Irish racing priority since it moved from ATR.

luckily there's no irish racing on Saturday but seriously would they split screen the National for Kilbeggan???

Pish po. I switched over to ITV, which was so far behind I didn't actually miss any of the race.

There should be a simple answer to this just don't schedule any other meetings that are to be broadcast by the the channel who is covering the Festival. They should have scrapped that Huntingdon fixture in Cheltenham a long time ago. It should be about showcasing the best the sport can offer, not any old tat. If that isn't possible then make it clear that the meetings will only be shown after racing as a replay. If someone is that desperate to see a race then you could watch it on Extra (assuming you are not a Virgin subscriber) or a bookmaker site.

This one was an error on their part, but the race schedulers don't help. For example, the Peterborough Chase and the John Durkan are normally scheduled to go off a few minutes apart, as are the Welsh National and the big 3 m handicap at Leopardstown. This sort of stuff ought to be so easy to fix.
