You rarely see them penalise interference that occured while jumping. Also possible Brennan will tell the stewards it wasn't interference anyway.

Pied Piper being 3 implies the result actually is 1.5 to stand I think, given the reward is only half your stake winning.

There's no question that at the time of the incident it cost the horse at least one inch in lost ground. But it's kind of unsporting to turn around a result when there's no significant foul play. And Paddy has a "winner" either way.

There needs to be clarity on interference in the air. Say, a rule that they don't penalise anything but extreme interference. I remember a stewards a few years ago when Special Tiara really should've got the Tingle Creek, but no one knows how to police interference in the air.

poppy dg sums it up  correctly, if knight salute is beaton a nose ,then brennan would have  said things differently in the stewards room ,he'd have said"i was bumped , beaten a nose and undoubtedly  would have won" and  nobody could have argued, i was only pied piper minimum stakes and assumed it  would correctly be demoted.
