So I would know at the bet settlement stage rather than the withdrawal stage?

I am surprised you were able to deposit, these things are usually picked up when opening a new account. If your bet wins, checks should be done on any winnings over £500, under that don't get checked. That said there may well be other checks added since I left.

If it was me and the bet wins I would withdraw and don't use it again. It would end in tears at some point!

Sounds like a risky manoeuvre imo - if you lose you lose - and if you win you may not win?

I don't understand why anyone would want to do this.

Who doesn't miss an unrestricted account?

And because I'm getting too old to leg it to the shop. Although I note that Fred have a loyalty card like the others. I have a Ladbrokes Grid account that lets me bet with them again. Maybe that is the way to go.

And, why should I have to lie about my identity to establish an account?

I've got enough stories about that place to write a book!

Betting without being able to bet place only could never interest me but if you can make it pay with bookmakers then well done. I suppose we all have our different ways of doing things.

if they are letting you open a new account with the same name and address it sounds like they can expect a lumpy fine soon - letting you get around a stake limit is one thing, but if you were opening a new account because your old one had a deposit or loss limit you wanted to get around?

Think I would test a withdrawal before sticking any more in.

We reserve the right to void any winnings and refund any deposits (less amounts in respect of void winnings) made in respect of Your Account or Duplicate Account and any amount found due and owing from you may be recovered by us directly from any of Your Accounts (including any Duplicate Account).

If he pushed it to 7/2 it would still be an ok result for the punter. I have no prob with that , especially after you have payed comm on here , and obviously Premium Charge if applicable . For him to match the Betfair price or to be even slightly better is great.

Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear.  I get that your duplicate account is to get around a stake limit.

I meant that if they are too dozy to stop you doing that, they are probably too dozy to stop other punters opening duplicate accounts to get around safer/responsible gambling controls - and that will get them in trouble when it comes out.

Or he could simply be waiting to void wins if they occur.
