All on the same race? Did you use cashout on that race?
By:
no I never even had the race up on my screen I never placed them they appeared on my bets section
By:
Raging how they can just dismiss this the bets totalled £100
surely they can't just brush people off like this |
By:
Check your security log in and see if anyone else has logged into your a/c
By:
Have you checked
My Account -> My Betfair Account -> My Details -> Security Settings and checked for any odd-looking IP addresses in case your account has been compromised? do you have 2FA enabled? |
By:
Another half story me thinks
By:
they said it wasn't compromised but there is a different IP address twice on my security settings
By:
Someone has your log on details then
By:
Do you use the 2 step security log in
By:
well does that not mean my accounts been compromised how can someone know my log in details if I haven't given them to them
sorry for being naive |
By:
no mate I don't use 2 step security
By:
if you have a couple of ip addresses showing, search them and see if it throws up the origin / location, you should get something of use to talk to betfair about, just google ip lookup search
By:
just check you didn't bet into the wrong race, also make sure your phone isn't missing
By:
how can someone know my log in details
a) someone has grabbed the details from public wifi or similar b) you have malware on your device c) they are guessable Shocking that support didn't freeze your account. |
By:
The 2 step gives you that second protection, elise is far more knowledgeable than me but if your account wasnt compromised then imo it was done under your log in details
By:
if he's been done and bf didn't freeze it installing 2 step or at the very least changing passwords is a must
By:
betfair have now suspended my account doesn't get my money back though
By:
don't give up on it, if you can identify the dodgy ip address you might still get somewhere, push for an investigation
By:
do a virus scan of you device and change all your passwords.
By:
they have suspended my account and security are looking in to it thanks to everyone for the advice

https://haveibeenpwned.com/
is a useful place to check if your details (many people reuse them across sites) have been publicly exposed. https://support.betfair.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/126/~/two-step-authentication-help I can see no reason* not to have 2FA on your account * OK, unless you are one of the 1% who do not own a smartphone |
By:
You shouldnt be using a Betfair account without 2FA on your account. And you should NOW go and secure all your email accounts with 2FA. Plus change your passwords everywhere to something unique for each site/app
