If you havent watched this new prog on RP - dont bother ! The interviewer Ross Brierley (?) is AW|FUL - had an iview with Paul Townend and just asked inane closed questions, didnt let the man talk. Cant they let one of their better journos run it. Wont bother with another episod whilst that guy is chairing.

I don't mind him. Certainly better than Wilders and Segal. Townend was never going to tell him anything. At least he didn't give a bum steer.

What would you want Townend to tell us? Everyone wants to know which horse will run in which race but (a) it's Willie's (and the owners') decision, and (b) we know Willie won't finally commit until the last minute.
The problem with all these Cheltenham preview shows is that they are too late to tell us anything we cannot see for ourselves about the championship races, and too early to talk meaningfully about the handicaps for which neither weights nor even entries are known. |
