Never heard anything like it. You get a bit of noise on the student days in Ireland, but this is in a different league.

Perhaps if they could have heard the commentary today they would not have started singing shocking performance by the racecourse still waiting for them to tell the crowd what was 3 rd in the last.

You can't blame people for enjoying themselves. I was at Uttoxeter some years ago, and one section of the crowd let out a cheer everything their horse which was leading jumped a fence. It won and they all went barmy.
Aintree Grand National meeting decades ago is one the roughest place I've ever been. I won't go into details. We soon transfered to Tatts. It was like walking into a different world there.

irishone is correct. it is a peculiarly british problem. i will not go to any meeting where a large crowd is expected. except perth, which seems immune to this contagion

You go to a football match to watch the game ffs You should go to the races to watch the horses Not pi55 it up in a bar How bad are your pubs ? How bad is british life if you pay over a fiver a pint , do drugs at a horse racing event Not to mention fecking "ladies" day.... A fashion show ffs

Amazes me how people do it , stop off at pub before racing, sit at table at races all afternoon, stop off at pub on way back. And paying over £5 for a pint of fizz in a plastic glass.

Seemed good humoured to me.I decided many years ago that Ascot should hold a tea party/fashion parade/pi55 up/brawl from say midday until 5pm, at each day of the royal meeting. I would attend and watch the 'My Fair Ladies' revert to Eliza Dolittle with each mouthful. At 5pm the toffs and the pond life would be escorted off the premises, and racing fans could inhabit the steppings to watch the cream of horse racing!

Nothing to do with you being English Dragon, clearly it is your demeanour and attitude. However, Perth has most certainly gone downhill as hordes of Eliza Doolittles ( great line Christysonfire ) now seem to dominate the market thinking of the place.
