How did this horse manage to bolt up at the Festival?
Nothing he has done has been remotely comparable. Today was no different. He backed off fence after fence and looked a slow boat. It's the National Hunt Chase or nothing over fences, but if that's the best he can jump he may as well revert to hurdles.

Cromwell sounded disappointed with his run. He also couldn't have been more negative about Stumptown when interviewed before the race. Got the impression they were on his other one who got an abysmal ride.

Cromwell confirms if he goes to Cheltenham it is the National Hunt Chase. That was always the logical choice.
The explanation of the run is little harder to fathom. Said the ground was fine, but they probably didn't go fast enough for him. So why didn't the jock go forwards? Also nothing on his jumping. He was so slow he lost about three lengths at one fence. It is 2/2 shockers at Leopardstown. Got to hope Cheltenham sparks him up again. |

He said after the race that was the likely scenario. Also you don't see the jockey get the rides he used to off Elliott. Take from that what you will.

His novice hurdle form pre cheltenham wasnt outstanding either, Dublin racing festival form was poor but he was spot on for the big day like Flooring Porter. Cromwell's stock in the past few years has went through the roof and has proved he can ready 1 all right for the big day, so unlucky what happened with Espoir D'Allen

I’ve took 20/1 for the stayers hurdle after losing a length at every fence. Needs to go back hurdling.
